10TH ANNIVERSARY WEEKEND CELEBRATION

Weasel Boy Brewing Co. is turning 10 years old on July 15! Join us the week of July 11-16 (yes, we will be open on a Sunday!) for special events and beer tappings all week long.

The anniversary logo designed by Jeff Carr of Newark depicts a skeletal version of the happy weasel in the brewery’s original logo. The logo is now available on 10th anniversary T-shirts and will soon be available on ceramic mugs by Bubba Jones Pottery.

During the week-long celebration, the brewery will host a linear tasting of the brewery’s two-time Great American Beer Festival (GABF) winner, Anastasia Russian Imperial Stout, which will include the very first batch of Anastasia brewed at the brewery in 2007 and the 2012 batch that took gold at the GABF.

The brewery in July will also release a tenth anniversary beer, a lightly smoked version of Anastasia aged on vanilla beans and cocoa nibs, and three barrel-aged beers.

There will be live music three days that week: Long Tall Deb and Colin John, 8-11 p.m. Friday, July 14; Jim Volk, 8-11 p.m. Saturday, July 15; and Cello Fury, 6-9 p.m. Sunday, July 16.

The brewery will open at noon Sunday, July 16, with a special ‘kegs and eggs’ menu available that day only.

Owners Jay and Lori Wince brewed their first batch of beer July 15, 2007 at 126 Muskingum Ave. on the Muskingum River in Zanesville, in the oldest historic district in Zanesville.

NEWEST TAP

Our latest beer to be tapped is the Dark Weasel Mint Chocolate Stout. Heavy on chocolate, this beer is not for people who want a light, refreshing drink! We incorporate organic cocoa nibs and add mint leaves post fermentation to add a little something, almost like more of a sensation in the finish.

The Dark Weasel complements any of our hearty meat toppings or spicy poblano peppers on your favorite pie.

SOUP AT WEASEL BOY

Warm, delicious soup is now available from the Weasel Boy Brewing Co. kitchen. The soup is made fresh with the best ingredients possible and served in a cup or bowl.

We started with something basic -- a chicken soup that had a hint of smoky cumin to give it a slight taste of far-off lands. Tomato basil soup came next, a nice thick and creamy version of the classic. Vegetable beef -- just like Mom used to make -- was next, loaded with ground beef, cabbage, carrots, celery and a hint of onion. Our latest is potato soup, which features small pieces of potato in a creamy base that is accented by chunks of smoked pork from one of our local meat processors.

Come in and join us for a cup or bowl and don’t forget to ask your server for a recommendation on pairing your favorite soup with one of our hand-crafted beers. Soup selections change weekly.
